I found my spool

of black velvet cord

and

black,white and red

are dancing...

velvet book, herkimer and stripey...

Rain, notwithstanding;

today

was a "just do it" kind of day.

I made bookcovers

from the discharged velvet,

wrapped black and white folios

with black, white and gold marbleized paper

now ready for Coptic binding.

I gathered up some favorite talismans

(a herkimer diamond, stripey, holy stone, moon stone,

silver and scully) 

to create a dangle

that hangs from a black velvet cord.

I also delivered ten pieces

that will hang here,

in this show.

Really happy about all that.

If there is anything that tickles your fancy

is my sweet Grandma Grace's birthday

and tomorrow is mine

so

I'm allowing a little slack

and loving the black on black

simplicity is truly such a challenge

dreaming these

on a large scale

window or maybe even door size

my new rusty

weathered the rain

quite nicely

and who knows 

what tomorrow will bring...

that my world is a wonderland

of green lace and fresh tulips and daffodils

and our dry ground is happily soaking up

the blast of rain we got yesterday

but, alas - it is still cold

after some glorious days

of discharging and rusty play outside

we finally got some well needed rain

(there is a fire ban - no bonfires)

so

I gathered up my stash

of tea stained tags

and went to work

with  scraps and glue stick

I'm not sure which I like best

I have thrown the bones today

and I am reading Little Bee

such a powerful book

also

I am gathering up Boonie's old jeans

and other stashed fabrics

and playing with bleach

out under the intermittent sunshine

I love how each fabric

discharges

a surprise color

some rusties

are also developing

as well as workshop ideas

I am hankering to share

my stash

of rusty ceiling tiles

and perhaps

create

gypsy tents in the woods,

journals,

and introduce some beeswax

meanwhile

I have 4 - yes four pairs

of xox-ed and dotted silk velvet and linen pants

drying in the breeze...
