roll-ups are the answer
I am in love with blood oranges
in all ways
slice them thinly
place the slices on a perforated pizza pan
flip frequently
on the wood stove
and what have you got?
radiant rubies
cadmium citrus blast
but
perhaps (like me)
you can not resist
eating
a slice,
a segment (or two)
letting the rosy juice
trickle down your chin
well,
after you have eaten
roll 'em up!
roll up the rind
bind tightly
with waxed linen thread
let dry
and - voila - blood orange roll-ups!
hints of hot pink, cream-sickle
and sunshiny marigold
aren't they yummy?
