I love contrast
day and night
dark and light
dancing shadows,
fire sparkling up the twilight
the golden-ness of autumn
and
I am grateful
for so many, many things
in this season
of thankfullness...
grateful:
for so much sunshine
in this November
of many grays,
for the walking
the back and forth
between home, family,
and my passion for this work
for the deep listening
to bird call
and the shifting of light...

the stars align
and all endeavors seem to flow
towards some unknown point of arrival,
and
in spite of and/or because of
influences from within and without...
life converges with the creative impulse
and becomes the child of
and
the burnt toast...

when
the sun
pours in
like butterscotch
and amber lace
makes lacy shadows
you might get
burned toast
and boiled coffee

the weather is holding
in a warm
golden place
geese honk
as I navigate about
(yes - that's Boone studying - don't tell!)
still in polka dot flip flops...
I am truly
BEauty bound
burning to give presence of place,
sanctuary, shelter,
to enshrine
these torn wings
that I have collected...
this one
is bound
and ready to fly...
