with dry sunny weather
I find myself working inside and out
the sun dries my wet pages
and seals collaged elements quickly
I run from one small joy
to the next
as little folks pop out of paint puddles
thinking a lot these last few days
about the process
in making stuff
why we make the choices we do
wondering
as certain compositions and images recur...
I found a little box of saved grocery receipts
circa 1914
and a wingwalker
and one thing led to another...
xox - eb.

The little characters are so charming! It's amazing what YOU can do with paint puddles! These drawings can tweak the imagination! Are they getting organized preparing for a gathering, or maybe a party? OR are they getting ready to watch the beautiful lady with the very lovely red dress and the red shoes perform for an audience of Wing Walkers? Can you get tickets from the Collins and Needham establishment? By the way, what are wing walkers?? XOX, Mom

oh so fun !!! I love love love piles of rocks ! I stack them sometimes and play with the rocks..who wants to be on top ? who will form the base ? sometimes they just jump out of the pile for play and other times they jump out because they don't want to be in the pile... rocks are such playful things for me...looks like your puddle people and you know that too !
you inspire me, e.b. thanks...

Love the way you put colour together, Eb. That red and blue on the old, yellowed receipts is gorgeous! And I think you are on to something with these drawings. They are charming and it's interesting to see what you are thinking of (or subconsciously thinking of?) when you draw them.
PS: We talked about you at lunch in NYC the other day. Yes, you were missed! Of course you were!

love the paint puddle people - they are ethereal - just divine (pun intended) what kind of pen are you using and assuming the paint was dry first?

You amaze me. Do you recreate yourself every day? I love it! All of it!

Sending love and sparkles!
