art and soul - the feast...
on April 28th I loaded the car and crossed my magical lake
by ferry boat - heading south into rain and increasingly
thickening traffic to PA to Leslie's house...
I am a be... dream... play... COUNTRY girl and...
I am unaccustomed to 6 lanes of CITY traffic at 5:00pm
but - I made it!!! and was welcomed with blooming dogwood
and an Indian feast in the most lovely of homes...
the next day I was treated to the "art and soul" of this girl
ms. Karen - who delights beyond anything you can imagine...
SHE is a post in and of herself... AND!...
I had the opportunity to view Judy Wilkenfeld's
12 Tribes of Israel book! -
a miracle of art, heart and reverence
and then spent a rollicking afternoon
in the most amazing bookstore (another post)...
well - is this getting a bit lengthy? - bear with me...
so Leslie and I loaded her truck with all things imaginable...
and relatively unnecessary - we went over bridges...
and through tunnels
arriving at the Hampton, VA art and soul...
I must confess that - once there - I took very few photos
so engrossed I was in my classes -
9am - 9pm Th., Fri., Sun., and 9am - 4:30 Sat. and Mon...
and maniac that I am - I worked through lunch and into "happy hour"
I was fortunate to work with:
Traci Bunkers - we made stamps and the uber self-portrait,
Traci Batista - deLIGHTful doodling - providing collage fodder
appearing in many a journal page here created with L.K. Ludwig:
be...
play...
again...
Albie
Smith - surface design
and sculptural books extraordinaire,
Juliana
Coles and
L.K.
all brilliant and delightful teachers
(I got to see the proofs for L.K.'s True Vision book which
include my journal pages) - it was intense and WONDERFUL!
I met terrific blog pals and non-blog pals - WE LAUGHED!!!!!!
and cried - well I cried... you know - the heart sleave...
I missed my sweet Boonie boy -
it was the first time we have been apart
for any length of time...
I could go on and on and on...
about art and soul...
it was:
everything and more:
I learned,
shared,
expanded
and challenged myself
and met the most amazing and wonderful new friends...
and here's a little dessert for my "Queenly" friends...
oh green queen
long story long...
LIFE IS OH SO GRAND!!!!!!!!!
hey spf - did you hear me?
love to all of my sweet and deLIGHTful bloggy pals...

Your work is always amazing. Between you and Karen I feel like I have been to Virginia myself. Thank you so much for giving all of us in blogland so much of yourself over the past year. It's always a joy to come here and bask in the beauty you've created. xo
